Capital League House Rules (Regular + Playoffs)
Team & Players
Teams will consist up to 10 players and cannot be altered throughout the season. (If for some reason, the team has under 5 players, players can be added to play but the team will receive a loss for that week.)
Please only allow the players on the bench, if you have spectators, there will be a designated area for them.
If a player forgets their jersey, please bring a shirt or jersey that is of the same colour
Please also have players pick up their own garbage if they decide to bring food or drinks.
OUTSIDE SHOES MUST BE TAKEN OFF BEFORE ENTERING THE GYM
Game Time
A game shall be 10 minute quarters with a 4 minute half time and shall finish within the time scheduled regardless of time on clock.
Games will start 5 minutes after each hour (for example: if your game is at 3PM, game will start at 3:05PM) on the dot regardless if you are ready or not. (Please keep in mind we have multiple games a night.)
Each team may be granted one one-minute time-out per half.
As we are doing running time, the clock stops in the last 2 minutes of the second quarter, and the last 2 minutes of the last quarter.
If the game results in Overtime, added time will be based on the time left for the gym rental
If there is a significant amount of time, overtime will be 5 minutes
If there is not enough time, the first team to score 3 points wins
Game Rules
Games will be played with FIBA rules, following the rulings of the official referees.
If a player is subbing in, please let the scores table know and take a knee.
We have no control over the referees that are booked, please keep in mind that complaining with the referees reflects not only on the player and team, but also the league as a whole.
Fouls
Officials/Scorekeepers will now be counting personal fouls. Players receiving 5 personal fouls in a game will “foul out” and be ineligible to return for that game.
All Personal Fouls will count as Team Fouls.
Five (5) - Team Fouls results in BONUS (2 Free Throws – Fiba Rules)
Please note for any reason if there is a dispute or a fight, players will get technical fouls and time will still be running. Decisions will be made after deciding if suspensions will be given out.
